Position Overview
The NCAA Ethnic Minorities and Women's Intern/Director of Events and Athletic IDE Initiatives combines oversight of athletic event management and collaboration on inclusion, diversity and equity initiatives for the PEAR department. Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities

  • Understand and support students who are balancing multiple responsibilities as students and athletes in a rigorous academic environment.
  • Knowledge of and compliance of Division III and MIAC policies and regulations
  • Oversee contracts and organization of adult game workers for football, basketball, soccer, track and volleyball
  • Coordinate game management supervision and hire and train student work staff for home athletic events
  • Organize event communication and scheduling with students, head coaches, officials, event workers and athletic department administrators
  • Collaborate with SAAC, Campus Activities and the Division of Student Life to coordinate campus initiatives at athletic events
  • Coordinate, organize and assist with all aspects of home MIAC Conference playoff and NCAA Championship events
  • Observe MIAC AD Council and Committee meetings as allowed, attend the NCAA Inclusion Forum and the annual NCAA Convention with Carleton Athletic Administration.
  • Partner with our NCAA designated Diversity Officer and collaborate with the directors of Carleton’s new IDE campus initiative in organizing annual student-athlete and coach diversity and inclusion programing
  • Join our PEAR Equity Committee that reviews equity in our PEAR department
  • Collaborate with our Senior Woman Administrator and Human Resources department in creating an updated hiring best practices for PEAR that includes developing a plan for more diverse hiring, training and retention of diverse department members.
  • Contribute to the college campus community through PEAR meetings, campus committees and college service
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (those with Master’s Degree will also be considered)
  • Experience in NCAA Athletics
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff, with a commitment to equity, inclusion and diversity.

Salary and Benefits:
This is an exempt level position. The selected finalist’s salary will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, internal pay structure, and our overall compensation package.
