Carleton College invites applications for a visiting faculty position in computer science, at the rank of visiting assistant professor or instructor. We are particularly seeking someone for winter trimester of the 2022-2023 academic year (early January through mid-March 2023), and the appointment could be made for both winter and spring trimesters (early January through early June 2023) if the candidate were interested. The standard teaching load is two courses per ten-week trimester.

Carleton is a highly selective liberal arts college with a student body of approximately 2,000. Located in the thriving two-college town of Northfield, Minnesota, it is forty-five miles from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St Paul, in easy reach of a vibrant metropolitan area that is home to three million people and rich cultural resources. Carleton's Department of Computer Science ( includes ten faculty, an administrative assistant, and an experienced full-time system administrator. We typically graduate between 70 and 80 CS majors per year, many of whom work for the department as graders, lab assistants, tutors, and teaching assistants. We seek an enthusiastic computer scientist committed to excellence in teaching in a liberal arts environment.
